Brand new stitching challenge - Seasonal Slow Stitching project
Welcome to our webpage dedicated to our new Seasonal Slow Stitching Project. We are delighted to be offering a second stitching challenge following our hugely successful 52 Stitched Stories challenge. New members can now choose which one they would like to do. It also means that, for members who have already completed their 52 postcards, there is a second challenge to take on.
The seasonal slow stitching project involves the creation of snippet rolls - one for each season. Snippet rolls are a super way to use up scraps of fabrics and we have created a Pinterest Board HERE if you are new to them. We are encouraging members to use what they have and resist the temptation to buy new. At Stitched Stories & Wellbeing we are committed to an environmentally friendly approach to creative work.
Virtual Exhibition of our finished & work-in-progress snippet rolls from just some of our members. HERE
We will aim to create one snippet roll per season. At HQ Charlotte & I had a wee go at this earlier in the year and the blog post on how we did it is HERE. If you are new to stitching and therefore don't have a 'stash' Charlotte sells kits through her Etsy store HERE.
Charlotte (Ribble Recycled) only uses recyled fabric and often dyes it herself with natural dyes.
You will work with your own seasonal changes but, as HQ is based in the northern hemisphere, we will work with this rhythm on this page. You can begin this challenge whenever suits you. We have recorded a short video by way of introducing this project.
We also have a FREE downloadable digital workbook to support you as you get underway with your seasonal slow stitching project. From time to time we will publish supplements to this workbook. Just click on the pdf button to download.
Charlotte has also kindly provided a free tutorial for anyone new to stitching.
Our seasonal supplements (digital workbooks).
If you would like to join us in zoom land we will be hosting regular Stitching Circles where we can bring our stitching and have a cuppa and a chat. These will be available to book HERE.
